You have a lot of options when it comes time to choose a mortgage lender, an escrow officer, a title company, an insurance agent, a home inspector, a photographer for your property for sale, a home warranty company, and the list goes on. While we certainly recommend doing your own research when choosing any agent to work for you; we can recommend you add a few to your short list that we’ve worked with successfully in the past. Keep in mind, you should never take a referral as a replacement for your own due-diligence; be sure you’re personally comfortable with any service provider you choose.
- Mortgage Brokers
Clearly related, my brother is now branch manager after almost 20 years in the business. He’s previously been a real estate agent and is married to a CPA. He understands the numbers, the deals, and what it takes to get your home purchase closed successfully. With underwriting in-house rather than out-of-office, his ability to back up his word is only steps away.
Mark has worked with both myself and my broker on multiple deals that have closed successfully, with clear communication throughout the process. We used Mark on our last primary residence purchase & he and his team were wonderful.
Troy Weatherly – Essex Mortgage Branch Manager, both my broker & I have had great results with solid communication throughout the mortgage process with Troy. Knowledgeable, experienced and communicative; he’s got three of the most important criteria we look for in a loan officer.
- Title & Escrow Companies
- Insurance Agents
Perry Olson, State Farm Insurance: Perry is a seasoned and successful Insurance Agent with State Farm, located in Las Vegas. He currently insures all of our property & we’ve been very happy with his office, who went out of their way to suggest ways to save on our coverage.
Mike Whitford, State Farm Insurance: Mike is a sharp and attentive agent I’ve had a personal relationship with for many years. Over the course of our conversations, Mike has built trust in me for his ability to provide service with an added insight & consideration for his clients.
- Home Inspectors
Criterium McWilliam – Need a structural inspection prior to knocking out that wall to create a ‘great room’ in your rehab? Want to assess the viability of a foundation that seems iffy? You’ll need to pay the premium for a structural engineer to inspect your property. While they cost more than a standard inspector, they cost way less than having the roof cave in because that wall was load-bearing!
- Professional Photographers:
Barton Anderson, Luxe 7 Media I’ve Known Barton for years and his work speaks for itself. Have a look at his web site to get a feel for his attention to detail. I can also attest to his character as being an honest and hard working professional who loves what he does.
- Paint & Drywall Repair:
Sunflower Construction – Tommy Yoon: Tommy and his team were professional, showed up on time, every time we’ve used them. Their work patching drywall & painting for a fresh look prior to selling or renting your property will be one of the best returns for your improvement dollars I’ve found so far.
Danny Pino & Miguel, his point man on our installation job including both tile work and vinyl laminate planking did phenomenal work in record time, made recommendations that brought up solutions to issues we hadn’t even considered & charge very fair prices.
- Alkaline Water
Jazmen Quidachay, Hydration Specialist – (619) 240-9108
If you’ve closed on your new home & want to install an alkalized water machine instead of having those tough to handle 5-gallon jugs delivered, Jazmen can help you figure out which one is right for your home & get you sorted out.
